WordPress by default gives the username as admin and many of us dont like it. We like to have something different and that’s the reason why you have come here.

Initially I didn’t know how to change and I was searching in Google and many sites came up but I didn’t like like any of them as they involved lots of coding and I am not used to such coding.

When I was searching in wordpress site for plugins that can change the username  I finally got one and at present that plugin is the best for changing username. The plugin is WPVN – Username Changer.

Using WPVN – Username Changer

Step 1

First download and activate the WPVN – Username Changer plugin. You can also install it by searching the plugin from your dashboard.

Step 2

Once the plugin is activated you can find “Change Username” menu under the Users section on the left side of WordPress dashboard. Click on “Change username”.

Step 3

Now enter the the new username and click on Save Changes button. After saving changes you will be asked to login with your new username.

That’s it. Now you have changed the user name successfully.

Note : You can specify which level of users can change their username(Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, Subscriber). You can see this in the same page where you changed the username.
